Copper nickel or cupronickel is an alloy of copper that has nickel alloy which strengthens these modules. A Copper Nickel Plate shows excellent resistance against marine and biofouling corrosion. These plates have good resistance against oxidation and stress corrosion cracking. The Cupro Nickel Plate possesses moderate strength in high-temperature systems. The addition of manganese, niobium, and chromium improves the corrosion resistance within these grades.
What is ASTM B122?
ASTM B122 specification covers copper nickel zinc alloys, copper nickel tin, and copper nickel alloy plates, sheets, strips, and rolled bars. These modules belong to the UNS C71520, C72200, C72500, C73500, C74000, C74500, C75200, C76200, C77000, C70600, C70620, C71000 and C71500. The items in this specification are manufactured either through a cold or hot working process and annealed if necessary.

Why choose Cupro Nickel Plate for seawater service?
Seawater causes metal and steel to corrode due to crevice corrosion and pitting to chlorides. Cupro Nickel plate are designed to resist acids and prevent this phenomenon from occurring to the plates. Copper alloys are not easily affected by temperature fluctuations in the seawater due to the film formation to protect it in such scenarios. Pipes and tubings for seawater systems are resistant to attacks from impingement when turbulence occurs in the system.
