The combination of attractive metals such as Nickel, chromium and molybdenum makes Hastelloy C276 a high performance alloy that could be used in marine engineering purposes. Another benefit noticed about Alloy C276 is that as compared to alloy grade 316 or Monel 400, the sheet will resist corrosion even if it has been exposed to crevice conditions in the marine environment. Tungsten added to the UNS N10276 is what makes the sheets highly resistant to chloride stress related corrosion cracking.

The melting point of Hastelloy C276 ranges between 1325°C – 1370°C. Apart from having superior corrosion resistance properties, the Alloy C276 has good mechanical properties as well. For instance, the yield strength is of this very popular nickel alloy is about 364.7 MPa, while its Rockwell hardness is valued at 90.
