What is ASTM A240 Type 2507 Sheet?
The ASTM A240 is a specification which covers several grades of chromium-nickel stainless steel components such as plate, sheet, and strip. In this case, the specification envelopes grade ASME SA 240 S32750 along with its chemical and mechanical property requirements, thereby making components produced from this specification well suited for use not only in general applications but also in pressure vessels.
Alloy 2507 is a high-strength duplex alloy. A Super Duplex Plate is a ferritic and austenitic dual micro-structure component designed with a superior concentration of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. Super Duplex Stainless Steel Plate Advantages and Disadvantages
Super Duplex plate is a dual-structure component designed with excellent tolerances. The Super Duplex Plate Material is designed with an ultimate tensile strength of 116ksi with a minimum yield strength of 80ki. The modules can be easily elongated by a minimum of 15% in the system. ASTM A240 Type 2507 Sheet is designed with a hardness of 310 HRB exhibiting high strength and corrosion resistance in different systems.
The exceptional resistance to inorganic acids by the UNS S32750 Strip, especially those containing chlorides, gives it good tolerance against pitting in aqueous media. With good workability and weldability, the UNS S32760 Coil is not preferred in applications above 600 degrees F and lower than -50 degrees F. At these temperatures, the modules start to disintegrate under pressure. There may be a development of phases during welding of the SDSS Foil if good welding procedures are not followed.
