What is SAE 1045 Steel Plate?

SAE 1045 is a medium tensile and carbon grade. The Sae 1045 Steel Plate is designed with a versatile chemical composition of carbon, iron, manganese, phosphorous, and sulfur. The superior concentration gives the Aisi 1045 Plate good strength and excellent impact resistance properties across normalized or hot rolled conditions.

The versatile Aisi 1045 Steel Sheet has low hardening capacity, and the low alloying elements in this grade don’t respond well to the nitriding process. Aisi 1045 is a medium carbon grade exhibiting superior machinability and weldability. The versatile grades have a tensile strength of 565mpa with a yield strength of 310mpa and can be readily elongated by 16%. The 1050 grade possesses a hardness of 163 Brinell with a modulus of elasticity of 200GPA. The bulk modulus for the steel is 140GPA with a shear modulus of 80GPA.
