What is Nickel 201 Plate?

Nickel 201 components are designed with commercially wrought alloys. The Nickel 201 Plate shows excellent corrosion resistance properties and can operate in temperatures up to 600 degrees F. The lower carbon content protects these plates against graphitization, making them less susceptible to embrittlement. Apart from this, the plates show excellent resistance to caustic alkalis and varying acid systems to give these modules enhanced oxidation resistance in stress-induced environments.

The AMS 5553 is a specification that covers low carbon nickel alloy 201 produced in the form of sheet and strip. The included a nominal thickness ranging between 0.001 to 0.250 inch.

The melting point of UNS N02201 is high and ranges between 1435°C - 1446°C. In an annealed condition the yield strength of grade 201 nickel plate is 14900 psi, whereas its Rockwell hardness is valued at 85. Alloy 201 is well suited to be used for Marine and offshore engineering applications due to its excellent performance in flowing seawater even when the alloy has been exposed to high velocity conditions.
