What is 310s Stainless Steel Sheet?

310s SS components belong to the austenitic grade of stainless steel. The Stainless Steel Plate 310s is a low carbon version of the 310 grade of SS. The plate have a chemical composition of 25% chromium coupled with 20% nickel. The superior concentration allows the 310s Stainless Steel Plate to have excellent resistance against corrosion and oxidation across a range of stress-induced environments. The high-strength 310s Ss Plate is resistant against sensitization and can be welded easily using shop welding procedures. The 310s Stainless Steel Sheet performs well in temperatures up to 1150 degrees C in continuous service systems up to 1035 degrees C.

The high-performance SS 310s Sheet performs well in sulfur-induced systems. It can also be employed in cryogenic applications.  310S SS hot Rolled Plate is processed at high temperatures in mills. These high-strength plate possess enhanced workability and formability. The Stainless Steel 310S Cold Rolled Plate is processed further to give these modules enhanced surface finish and tolerances. Designed by punching holes the SS 310S Perforated Sheet is mechanically or physically stamped. These high octane sheets perform well in different environments while providing sturdy grip and torsion. The 310s Stainless Steel Coil can be wound and transported easily from place to place.

SS 310 Vs 310s

310 and 310s components are identical modules the only difference between both of them is the carbon content. The 310s grade is a low-carbon version of the SS 310 grade. The lower carbon content helps in reducing the carbide precipitation to improve its weldability.

Coils and foils are two distinct shapes in the 310s grade. However, both can be differentiated based on the thickness and their functionality.
  •   SUS 310S Foil is the thinnest metal component across this grade. These components are rolled and hammered. They are designed with a thickness below 0.2mm. Foils are utilized in providing insulation and protection to different metal equipment.
  •   Werkstoff No 1.4845 Coil is a metal component that is rolled after the initial rolling phase. Coils can be easily transported from one place to the other. They are available in thicknesses between 1.2mm to 20mm.

The equivalent grade of the 310s SS is 1.4845. The EN designation is X8CrNi25-21 with the UNS designation of S31008.


310s SS temperature limit

SS 310s grade is a high-temperature austenitic grade designed to withstand temperatures of up to 2010 degrees F.

SS 310s hardness

SS components across the 310s grade cannot be hardened by heat treatment. They are hardened by a cold rolling procedure which is very rare. These components  are designed with a maximum hardness of 225 HV.
